our eyes. Imagine a day when there will be nothing expect
darkness and we will shiver in fear. Blindness itself
is a course to parson - a situation that leads to a
colorless life. Try to realise this grime situation.
Try to lead them a life of satisfaction, enable them
to realize the beauty of life and world, which due to
blindness yet leaving a miserable live. Direct them
towards leading a living a life full of vigor, strength
and savvy. Add power to the light that is flicking at

Eyes are the greatest gift of God to us, and we can
offer our highest prayer to God by pledging to donate
our eyes after our death. Learn more about eye donation

has the highest rate of eye-donation in the world because
they believe that by donating their eyes they would
go to heaven.... and we are convinced that they are
TRUE!
Eye donation is the only way you can
help someone after your death. Children too, should
be made aware of its importance.Unfortunately, in India
there is an acute shortage of donors of eyes, as a result
of which thousands of blind persons registered with
the eye banks have to wait for years before donor eyes
become available. In contrast, in Sri Lanka the number
of eyes donated is ten times their national requirement.Virtually
all religions commend eye donation and uphold it as
a noble way of serving humanity and God. |

How
to make the eye donation? |
| |
The
relatives of the deceased person can donate the eyes
of their beloved ones immediately after the death. The
eyes need to be collected within six hours of death. |

Who can donate
eyes? Can people with vision problems also donate eyes? |

You
too have the power to make the blind see by pledging
to donate your eyes to the eye bank after your demise.
The donor’s age and sex is no bar. You can also
help by donating the eyes of a beloved family member
who passes away. Even the eyes of those who suffer from
eye problems may be useful. In fact there are very few
conditions where the eyes are not suitable for transplantation. |

Who cannot donate
their eyes? |

Death
due to unknown causes. Death due to infections caused
viz. rabies, syphilis, infectious hepatitis, septicemia,
and AIDS, cannot be a donor |

Please remember the following
after making the call to the nearest Eye Bank. |
| |
• Keep
both eyes of the beloved deceased closed and covered
with moist cotton.
• Switch off the ceiling fan, if any, directly
over the deceased person.
• If possible, apply antibiotic eye drops periodically
in the deceased’s eyes to reduce the chance of
any infection.
• Raise the head of the deceased by about six
inches, if possible, to reduce the chances of bleeding
at the time of removal of the eyes. |

one million eyes per annum then only we can meet our
demand.
2. The second huge requirement of our country is Blood
Donation.
With the ideologies mentioned above "Shri Maheshwari
Samaj Samiti, Western Region, Jodhpur" appeals
to every individual, especially to Maheshwari Bandhu
families living in any part of the Earth, to take pledge
to donate your eyes and blood and motivate and educate
others about Eye and Blood donation.
The Samiti is taking up welfare projects of short term
and long term nature from time to time. Some projects
are of regular and repetitive type, while others are
periodic. The Samiti requests for your help at all levels
through time, money and energy. Contribution to the
Samiti for subscriptions, donations etc. can be deposited

be sent in the name of "Shri Maheshwari Samaj Samiti,

at the Regd. office address as given on home page, but
